Massingberd Blossom
The ‘Massingberd Blossom’ (Gunby Hall) c.1905. This pattern is an example of British Edwardian wallpaper which was influenced by the designs of the Far East which was trendy at the time. The trailing blossom and repeating birds are elements found in early, hand-painted chinoiserie. Using surface printing gives this pattern additional richness.
