The Japanese Crane mural was designed and manufactured by the Parisian workshop Petitjean which presented it at the Paris World Fair of 1889.  It was designed in the fashionable "Japonism" style of the time that Europeans were embracing.  The pale gold and yellow gold are printed on authentic hand applied metallic leafing white the Ivory is printed on paper.
