This print, 'Tulip’ (Erddig) c.1898, was found in the home of wallpaper collectors Philip and Louise Yorke. This pattern of scrolling foliage has a graded color which gives life and depth to the leaves. In 1898 this color gradation was considered a contemporary evolution of the traditional, flat damask design.
